0 notes February 10, 2011 fly me to the moon. F:Ms. Rogers, how much do it cost to go to the moon? Me:It's really expensive honey. Why? Do you want to be an astronaut when you grow up? F:But I am asking you how much do it cooost. How much do it cost? Me:It's expensive. Like I just said.....Do you know what expensive means? F:Noo idea. Don't even know a little bit whatchu talking about. Me:Expensive means something costs a lot of money. Like you have to pay a lot of money for something if it is expensive. F:Ohhh. Well. I wonder if I could do it. Me:Of course you could! (Insert peppy teacher "reach for your dreams" speech.) So you do want to be an astronaut when you grow up. F:No. I want to be one of those guys that goes into space. Like goes to the moon or sumpin. Me:That is an astronaut. An astronaut is someone who goes into space and who could land on the moon! F:Oh. Well then yeah. One of those guys. Or a 'pliceman.' Oh the joys of a language barrier. We went all around the world, only to arrive back where we started. Translation? Being an astronaut - one of them moon guys is expensive - costs a lot of money. First grade, this is why I love you.
