and so the hiatus ends.
I’m back. I must confess, I have spent the last week or so on a hiatus from the blog because I can’t decide if I’m going to carry on with this crazy thing or not. While I immensely enjoy reading blogs and blogging myself, I am unsure if it is a worthwhile way to spend my time. I spend many a night on the computer in front of the TV and am feeling like I need to “unplug,” if you will and spend some time doing things like reading, exercising, or being a whole and complete contributing member of society. Ya feel me?
Nevertheless, until I have reached my decision Happy Monday posts will persist!
1. We are having a KILLER thunderstorm right now and I love thunderstorms. Our sliding doors are open and we are listening to the rain through the screen. The spring peepers are going strong, reminding me of being at home in the middle of the woods with the Mitzer. Sidenote: I taught Logan what spring peepers are this weekend. For those of you who do not have a slight rednecky and country southern background, spring peepers are frogs!
2. Inspired by my ever gorgeous friend Abby, I decided to wear red lipstick to school for the day. Even in my teaching world, I did feel a little bit glamorous. Isn’t it funny how simple lipstick can do that? Try it. Gloss it up tomorrow, and tell me if your day isn’t a bit brighter!

I don’t look nearly as gorgy as this girl did, but I did look a little better for school today, ie. I was not wearing Logan’s t-shirt and actually did something with the rest of my face and hair. However, you get the picture.
3. Comfort food. Mell made Greek Lemon and Chicken Soup for dinner with orzo in it. And then we had chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Want to talk about comfort food? It could not have been a better pairing with this rainy Monday.

4. Words with Friends. If you have an iPhone (which I do not, boo.) or an iPod touch, and have not played Words with Friends before, you are missing out! It is basically Scrabble, but is so fun to be able to play with friends all over the place, and somehow seems more exciting. I may or may not have woken up in the middle of the night last night and played from 2:00 to 2:30 to help with the insomnia. Addiction much?

5. Grace. This simple word has manifested itself in so many different ways in my life, namely in the love of a Savior. When I am feeling particularly rotten and incompetent, it is nice to know someone else besides me is in control, already knows how rotten I can be, and loves me anyways. It’s also nice to know that I have a boy who also knows how rotten I can be and has chosen to love me regardless, even with morning breath and mascara smears. And I have a roommate who finishes my sentences, washes the dishes because she knows how much I hate it and doesn’t begrudge me, and is the milk to my chocolate chip cookie (clearly shares my sweet tooth.) For all of these things, today I am grateful.

Reading and napping in the park on a lazy Sunday. My fave trio.

my boos.

Even though the stompers upstairs are persisting in a terrible way (we are talking the sounds of elephants bowling above us), we are watching Jeopardy and indulging in cookies. Monday, you were great.
